Staph Bacteria and Stye Infection
Stye is an infection caused by staphylococcus bacteria. This infection is in the eyes. It appears in the form of a red swelling. It is contagious. It spreads from person to person. Stye results in inflammation in some portions of the eye in the form of a lump.
It has an itchy feeling. It is painful.One wants to rub and squeeze it but it should not be done as it can lead to further complications. Instead one must give warm compresses several times in a day using clean cloth. It stays for 3 to 4 days. If it does not respond to compresses then one should see a doctor and follow his medicines.
If it does not show any improvement then it needs to be operated. There are certain home remedies which are very effective in treating sty. Cotton pads soaked in warm water should be put on eyes several times a day. It helps in draining of pus.
One tablespoon of coriander seeds should be boiled in water. After boiling the water should be drained and allowed to cool later this water can be used as eye wash 3 to 5 times a day. This helps in reducing the swelling.
Wet tea bags can also be used in getting relief from sty. They can be placed on eyes for 8 to 10 minutes several times a day. They give fast relief.
Guava leaves warmed and placed on a damp cloth can be used as a compress. They help in reducing pain redness as well as swelling. A paste of potato spread on a cloth and applied on the affected area helps in reducing swelling. Mix turmeric powder in two cups of water. Boil the mixture so that it is reduced to half of the quantity.
This mixture should be strained from a cotton cloth and used as an eye drop twice or thrice a day. The aloe leaf slit lengthwise and the pulpy side applied on the affected area helps in reducing swelling and redness. Two three grams alum dissolved in water can be used as eye wash. Eye pads soaked in fresh stabilized aloe vera juice can be used. A mixture of chamomile tea and aloe juice can be also used to soak eye pads and used. It should be applied several times a day till the problem disappears. It is very effective in curing stye inflammation.
While using this entire one should strictly observe cleanliness because without that sty cannot be cured.
